March Brown.

Another famous fly pattern, dating back, as some say, to 1496, this mottled little dun pattern covers a multitude of mayfly species.

Although first developed for use on the fast flowing streams typically found in the north of England, its popularity has gained a world -wide reputation.

As you would expect, there are many variations and it is worth your while tying or collecting as many as possible.
