Bullhead Hopper.

During summer grasshoppers abound in the grasslands and when the wind picks up, many are blown into the rivers, most of which become a favoured food source for old Mr.Speckles. In some countries, as in Australia, grasshopper fishing is looked on as a mainstay for high summer fishing. There are literally hundred of patterns available and most will work anywhere in the world. It can be a lot of fun trying out different ideas in hopper construction. I personally try to develop a new pattern each season just to see if the trout will take them and, more often than not, they do.

Build Stages.

Hook: Kamasan B 405 / Tiemco 100
Hook sizes: 12 to 8

Body: Squirrel & Hares ear blend dubbibg.

Legs: Golden Pheasant tippert fibres.

Wing: Turkey quill.
